PROCESS FOR APPLYING FOR CIVILIAN AND DEPENDANT IDENTITY CARDS

The ID Card is applied for through the local National Support Element (NSE).  All personnel serving as part of the Force are allocated an NSE for the purposes of administration of SOFA Status and entitlements.  The NSEs are located in; Sennelager, Goch, Ramstein and Ulm.

WHAT DO FAMILIES NEED TO DO?

Seek advice from their NSE or local admin unit HR personnel who will be able to provide a copy of the relevant application form and advice on the application process.  It is a requirement, under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), that Identity cards must be carried at all times.  It should be noted that some locations, will utilise a NATO Dependant ID Card, rather than a GEO authorised ID Card; there is no requirement to hold both.  A copy of the GEO ID Card application form can also be accessed below. Please ensure the form is printed back to back or it will be rejected by the NSE.

Families are reminded that they must return their Civilian and Dependant ID Cards to their local NSE when the holder departs the Force permanently or when SOFA Status as a Dependant of the Force ceases.

It is recommended to open this form in Adobe Acrobat to ensure that the form can be completed sucessfully. Please also save a copy of the form for your records once complete.
