Welcome to the Church House (Germany) web site. This site is designed to furnish our potential users with as much information as possible in order to ensure that maximum benefit can be made of this unique institution.

Church House (Germany) is a military training establishment (run on behalf of BFG by the Royal Army Chaplains’ Department) that is available to all British Forces’ personnel in Germany, both military and civilian, and also their dependants. Courses run here cover the entire scope of British Forces’ activity in Germany and range from those aimed at soldiers or commanders to welfare agencies or voluntary groups.

The ethos of ‘the House’ is one steeped in the long tradition of Christian hospitality and spirituality, but the purely religious component of our work is generally low-key. We aim to provide a suitable venue for all personnel – irrespective of beliefs or lack of them – and to ensure a healthy balance between study, physical recreation and social relaxation. In this way, groups who use these facilities may choose to follow a programme entirely of their own. They may, on the other hand, wish to take advantage of the many different and stimulating teaching modules offered by the Church House staff. Whichever way a course is constructed, course leaders are given plenty of practical support and attendees consequently receive an unparalleled level of hospitality, opportunity and activity.

We look forward to welcoming you to Church House (G).
