  1. Students will take part in a guided tour, in English, of Wewelsburg Castle, the former SS Castle near Paderborn
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the rise to power of the NAZI party especially the formation of Himmler’s SS
  3. The tour will include the former site of Niederhagen Concentration camp and consider the vital importance of the value ‘Respect for others ’.

  1. Students will take part in a guided tour, in English, of the Museum and visitors centre at the site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest AD 9 near Osnabrück.
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the background to the famous battle in which 3 Roman legions consisting of 20,000 strong army was destroyed by Germanic warriors
  3. The students will consider the vital importance of the value Loyalty and Compassion by an occupying power and the devastating cost of treachery

  1. Students will take part in a guided tour in English of the Museum and battlefield site of the Battle of Minden AD 1759, a battle honour in many surviving British Army regiments today.
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the background to the battle as well as view and handle weaponry from the period
  3. The students will consider the vital importance of the value Discipline in the field as well as examine the consequence of disobedience to orders in battle.

EV4 Collateral damage and the use of force Soldiers/JNCOs /Commanders /School students
  1. Students will take part in a guided tour in English of the Museum and battlefield site of the Operation Chastise in May 1943, the attack of the Rühr Dams at either the Eder or Möhne reservoirs.
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the background to the Operation as well as hear an exclusive interview given for Church House by the last surviving ‘Dambuster’
  3. The students will consider the vital importance of the value Courage, but also reflect on the effects of collateral damage in the use of force.

  1. Students will take part in a guided tour in English of Church House.
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the background and history of the building as a regional training centre for NAZI students 1938-45 and a regional hostel for the Hitler Youth.
  3. The students will consider the vital importance of the value Loyalty, but also reflect on the consequences of unquestioned obedience to superior orders.
