The LEC Training Wing was officially opened on the 1st of October 2001 by the Civil Secretary. The Training Wing was set up to train those in positions where a responsibility exists in Human Resources Management of Locally Engaged Civilians (LEC) working with British Forces Germany. This includes Military, United Kingdom Based Civilians and indeed LEC themselves.

The Training Wing moved from Herford to Block 13, Catterick Barracks Bielefeld on the 12th August 2013.

The term LEC refers to Locally Employed Civilians. LEC can be broken down into two main types. The first type are Dependants (DEP) who are spouses and children of serving personnel or United Kingdom Based Civilians. The second type are Directly Employed Labour (DEL), who work on the German economy for the British Forces.

You will find links to the left of this page for Human Resource training courses for both management and employees alike. These include modules specifically tailored to Civil Labour Officers, Line Managers and Civil Labour Clerks.

We also offer training for those who are required to carry out job, discipline or "back to work" interviews.

Our Customer Care course offers the chance to "fine tune" communication skills for all those dealing with any form of public (both military and civilian).

The IT courses offered are on the whole aimed at those specifically working with LEC Support Services (Pay etc.) or those employed in Human Resources with LSU.

Crystal Reports is used within the Human Resources field and these courses are also open to anybody who uses the product within BFG.
