On Wednesday 10th April, Bishopspark School (BPS) Paderborn, planted a tree as part of their legacy project. The tree was also planted in conjunction with 1000 other trees as part of the Martin Luther project that is happening across Germany. The Elm tree has been planted in a protected site that overlooks the school and has a sister tree in Wittenberg.
The school council were joined by the Bürgermeister of Paderborn, Michael Dreier, Alan Patterson, Padre Peter King and Ulrich Noetzel in addition to representations from 1PWRR and Paderborn Station.
The Bürgermeister and Mr Chapman, headteacher of BPS, gave a speech and the tree was blessed in English and German. Once the ceremony was over, everyone enjoyed tea, coffee, hot cross buns and cakes.
We hope that the children and staff of Bishopspark are able to visit the tree in years to come.
