St George’s Barracks is situated in a rural location between the villages of Edith Weston and North Luffenham close to the south shore of Rutland Water. Stamford, which is approximately nine miles away, has high street stores, restaurants and supermarkets.

Stamford market is held every Friday and a number of stall holders are also present on Saturdays in the high street.

Oakham is Rutland’s County town and offers a number of small shops, restaurants, takeaways and a small Tesco. Nearest train stations are Oakham and Stamford, with Oakham also having a taxi service.
