What is SSAFA?
SSAFA provides lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force and their families.
Each year, our staff and network of 7,500 volunteers are there for more than 50,000 people, ranging from D-Day veterans to the families of young soldiers wounded in Afghanistan.
Supporting the serving community
SSAFA also provides direct practical support to serving members of the Armed Forces and their families, at home and overseas. Just some of our work includes:
- A network of in-Service volunteers on bases and garrisons in the UK and around the world.
- Two SSAFA Norton Homes for families of wounded servicemen and women
- Holidays for Service children with additional needs and disabilities
- Support groups for bereaved families and bereaved siblings
SSAFA has been supporting Britain's Armed Forces since 1885.
