Royal Military Police (RMP) - Emergency Numbers

In the case of an emergency the Military Police have the following dedicated emergency numbers.

  • Paderborn – 79 2222 (From a civilian telephone: 05254 982 2222)
  • RMP Crimeline: 0800 184 2222 (Freephone from German numbers)

RMP Non-Emergency Numbers

For non-emergencies you can contact your local Military Police Station on the following numbers:

  • Paderborn: 79 - 2223 (From a civilian telephone: 05254 982 2223)

Both the Emergency and Non-Emergency numbers will be answered 24 hours a day.

RMP Interpreters Numbers

For German speakers, please call the Interpreters (available 24 hours a day)

Normandy Barracks Military Police Station

The Military Police Station (Bld 79, Normandy Bks) is open for walk in enquiries during the following hours:

Monday 0830 – 1700hrs
Tuesday 0830 – 1700hrs
Wednesday 0830 – 1430hrs
Thursday 0830 – 1700hrs
Friday 0830 – 1330hrs

 

The RMP in Germany operate in cooperation with the German Civil Police and other authorities in matters pertaining to:

  • Serving Personnel
  • Dependants
  • Civil Servants
  • Defence Contractors
  • Official visiting personnel and organisations
  • Visitors to UK Defence personnel resident in Germany

Notes:

  • If you have been arrested by the German Police, you should request that they contact the RMP as soon as possible.
  • German law prohibits the recording or taking pictures of German Police Officers, and is an arrestable offence.
  • ID (including SOFA card) should be carried at all times to identify yourself as a UK Defence entitled person to the German Authorities.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

You should ALWAYS report anything suspicious to the police, no matter how trivial it may seem. It’s much better to report something that turns out to be harmless, than to not bother to report something that turns out to be important.
