Opening Hours

The medical centre is open to patients between 0800- 1700 Monday to Thursday and 0800-1330 on Friday.

Walk in Clinic (Sick Parade) – 0800 - 0930

Patients requiring urgent treatment can attend the medical centre to be triaged by one of the nursing team. The team will then either:

  • Treat you for minor health conditions
  • Book you a routine appointment
  • Refer you to the duty doctor
  • Refer you to Secondary Healthcare

Wednesday & Fridays: 0930 to 1215. Afternoon - Emergencies only

Please note that if you are living in Ayrshire Barracks (Mönchengladbach) or a Germany ISODET, you should register with the Central European Practice (CEP) for medical purposes. Occupational Health can be provided in Sennelager through the CEP.

Appointments

To save you time and inconvenience, we advise all patients to make an appointment by telephoning the medical centre directly. Patients will be seen within 5 working days.

For urgent medical advice within working hours, please contact the medical centre and inform reception staff that you require an urgent appointment.  This may be a telephone consultation or face-to-face as needed.

Please inform the reception staff if you have any of the following symptoms when booking your appointment: rash, diarrhoea, vomiting, a rash, flu-like symptoms, or have travelled abroad in the last 2 weeks.

Home Visits

It is in the interest of all patients to be seen in the medical centre whenever possible so that necessary examinations and investigations can be done and where dispensary facilities are available. Home visits may be offered in exceptional circumstances but this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the SMO.

Remote Consultations

Several healthcare services can now be accessed via secure video consultation, including: dietetics, adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, speech and language therapy.

Online Consultations

You may request a routine review or advice on a clinical condition using the eConsult system. This is monitored by the clinical team who will respond within 24 hours. This can be accessed at: https://sennelagermedical.webgp.com/

Urgent Care

For urgent medical advice within working hours, please contact the Sennelager Medical Centre for an urgent appointment. For urgent care outside working hours and on public holidays that cannot wait until the next working day, please attend A&E at St Vincenz (Paderborn) or the Gilead (Bielefeld) hospitals.

Hospital treatment

You may be referred to a host nation facility via the One HMG team.

Repeat prescriptions

You may order your repeat prescription by contacting the dispensary staff during normal working hours. Please allow five working days for your prescription to be processed.

The Pharmacy will be pleased to dispose of any unwanted medicines which you may have in your home or accommodation.

Prescription Charges

If you are not entitled to free prescriptions, you will need to pay prescription charges when collecting your medication. Patients on multiple items can pay in advance to save money.

Visitors

Relatives visits must be sponsored by your Unit; your Families Office will provide details. This entitles them to emergency GP care only at the Medical Centre. Medication for existing conditions must be obtained in the UK before coming to Germany.
